Did you know that IWASM offers a variety of classes & programs? Some of these classes & programs can even be used to fulfill other badge requirements.  Below are a list of classes and the requirments they fulfill:

History Sleuth Hunt: Become a “History Sleuth” and hunt for clues to answer questions about famous female aviators. Challenge your friends to a paper airplane contest. Includes IWASM patch. Fulfills “Aerospace” badge requirements #1, #4, #7, #8.  Cost $7.00 per Girl Scout for up to 15 scouts.

Kite Building Workshops: Make and fly your own kite. Take your kite outside and see how high you can get it to soar (weather permitting). Includes supplies and tutorial.Fulfills ”Aerospace” badge requirements #3, #4, #9. Cost $10.00 per Girl Scout for up to 15 scouts.

Today’s Forecast:  Discover why the weather changes and how it effects our daily lives. Students will learn why weather is important for pilots and NASA. Students will make their own weather instruments to measure weather conditions at their own home. Fulfills “Weather Watch” badge requirements #2, 4.  Cost $6.50 per Girl Scout for up to 15 scouts.

Stargazer-Navigating by the Sky: The Stargazer program focuses on navigation and the stars. Scouts will learn about Sheila Thompson and her trek to Antarctica. Program includes supplies to build a compass and concludes with a scavenger hunt of the museum using only a map and compass. Fulfills “Finding Your Way” badge requirements #2, 6, and 8.  Cost $7.00 per Girl Scout for up to 15 scouts.

Fee is per Girl Scout and chaperones are free. Reservations are required. There is a 5 scout minimum for all programs. If you do not meet the minimum count requirement you will be charged for the minimum count of scouts. Programs are typically 1-2 hours.
