Guided Tours

Reserve your guided tour by one of the staff or docents at the museum. This opportunity provides you with a one-on-one, in-person guide through the intricate history of women in air and space. Hear how these women’s accomplishments and challenges impacted the world we live in today, and the history being made today.

Cost will be $10 per guest and tours last approximately 60 minutes. The first tour during regular hours begins at 10:30 and the final tour starts at 2:30. However, we are eager to work with you to find the right fit for your group and schedule!

We ask that you call at least 3 days ahead to schedule your guided tour to ensure that a staff member or docent is available to engage your group.

For group tours (10 or more guests), a 40% deposit payment is due at the time of booking. We recommend booking group tours at least 1 week in advance to ensure better availability.

Please call the office at 216.623.1111 to schedule a tour or for more details and available dates.

Lunch & Learn programs last 90 minutes. Lunch options include choice of sandwiches, salads, and beverages.

Children's & Student Programs

IWASM has a variety of children’s programs available. We offer guided tours and age-appropriate activities for all school age children (great for school field trips, homeschool co-ops, or multi-family visits). Choose between “Aviation Adventures”, “Space Travels”, or a combination of both.

Programs are scaled and benchmarked with Ohio’s state education standards. Tours must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance by calling 216-623-1111 or by contacting the museum’s Director of Education, Amy Strawbridge, at astrawbridge2@iwasm.org.

Every June, IWASM hosts Rocket Day in conjunction with NASA. This program highlights the many contributions women have made in the areas of space travel and exploration. NASA’s presentation is engaging and packed with fun experiments and hands-on activities for children ages 5-12. Watch our website and social media for the date of our next Rocket Day!

Coming in 2027:

Homeschool Tuesdays – Keep an eye out for this new program! Each session will delve into an area of aviation, space, or science. Your child will learn about the effects of gravity, Newton’s Laws, and Bernoulli’s principle. Children will be challenged to build their own version of a Space Station and test different designs of paper airplanes. This program will debut in early 2027.

Could Chasers – Join us on November 12th 2027 for the debut of Cloud Chasers. This educational day for 8 to 14 year-olds is the aviation equivalent to Rocket Day. Celebrating the birthday of 1929 Powder Puff Derby winner Louise Thaden, this program will bring flight “down to earth” for young aviators. Stay tuned for more details about this flight-filled day!

Please reach out to the museum with any questions or comments about children’s tours, events or programming at 216-623-1111 or by emailing our Director of Education at astrawbridge2@iwasm.org.
