Mercury Women Exhibit Revamp - Be a Part of History!
Mercury 13 participant, Wally Funk made history yet again on July 20, 2021! The youngest of the group of trailblazing women, Funk finally made her dream a reality aboard the Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. 2021 also marks the 60th Anniversary of the testing that included Funk, Myrtle Cagle, Jerrie Cobb, Janet and Marion Dietrich, Sara Rately, Jane Hart, Jean Hixson, Rhea Hurrle Wholtman, Gene Nora Jessen, Irene Leverton, Jerri Sloan, and B Steadman. If you've been to the museum recently, you will have seen that the current exhibit is now out of date! With Funk's historic journey, IWASM needs to revamp the 15 year-old display.
In the coming months, we will announce ways that you can help make this project a reality! Stay tuned to the monthly eNews, social media, and member-exclusive newsletters.
Until then, every bit counts! We've developed a variety of ways for you to help IWASM further its mission to preserve, educate, and inspire. Learn more below.
You can make a monetary donation to the museum online, by mail, or by telephone.
As a FREE museum, IWASM relies heavily on membership, grants, and donations. We know times are tough for everyone right now, but the CARES Act is making some changes to tax benefits in light of charitable giving.
Individuals can take a $300 above-the-line deduction for cash contributions to charities, regardless of whether or not the individual itemizes deductions. For additional information about the CARES Act, click here.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individual, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some case, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
Donations can be mailed to the museum at:
1501 North Marginal Road #165
Cleveland, OH 44114
Simply call the museum office at 216.623.1111 and speak with our Executive Director, Sara Fisher. Donations can be made via telephone with a credit card.
